Welcome to Love Rockingham, a community-driven movement of local churches and supported by individuals, households, businesses, and organisations across the City of Rockingham. At its heart, it’s all about our community coming together to care for and support one another.

Our first initiative focuses on the Christmas season with the 2024 Christmas Appeal.

2024 Christmas Appeal

Our first project as Love Rockingham is the 2024 Christmas Appeal. Together, we are aiming to raise $55,000 to purchase food, vouchers, and essential items for the 1200 family hampers, along with collecting 5,000 Christmas presents collected by churches, community groups, businesses and the City of Rockingham. These hampers will be distributed to families in need during the Christmas season to ensure they experience the joy and love that Christmas brings.

Donate Financially

We have a goal of raising $55,000 from our community to purchase the items needed for our Christmas Hampers so that families can enjoy treats and a meal on Christmas day. Every donation is tax deductible and 100% of donations are used to purchase items for the hampers. Each hamper costs us $46 so maybe you might want to donate the equivalent of one, five or ten hampers? Financial donations are tax-deductible, thanks to the partnership with The Salvation Army Rockingham, who will manage all financial contributions and provide tax receipts.

Donate Gifts

We also have a goal of collecting 5,000+ presents this year to bless the families. The gifts included in the hampers make an enormous difference, especially for families who would otherwise be unable to provide presents for their children. Parents will get to browse the presents and choose gifts that they know their children will love. The excitement of unwrapping a gift on Christmas morning is something every child should experience.

Presents need to be brand new and be suited to an age group from 0 – 15years, please don’t wrap the presents as we will do that for them once the parent chooses a suitable gift for their child.

Presents can be dropped off at the following locations or Get in Touch and we can provide alternative drop off locations.

The Salvation Army Rockingham – Presents can be donated during opening hours: Tuesday 9am-1pm, Wednesday 9am – 1pm, Friday 9am – 1pm.

The CREW Rockingham – Presents can be donated to The CREW during opening hours: Monday 9am-1pm, Thursday 9am – 1pm, Friday 9am – 1pm or contact us on 0491684033 to arrange an alternative location and time.

We would love to partner with your company or organisation to be able to see 1200 families provided for this Christmas. Below are some ways you can support our Christmas Appeal and then get in touch with us if you have any questions or would like to get involved.

You can help make this happen by asking staff and customers to purchase brand new gifts suitable for children aged 0-15 years and drop them off at your location. You can then deliver donations to The CREW or we can arrange for some amazing volunteers to pick them up. Please leave the gifts unwrapped as parents will have the opportunity to choose a gift their child would love to unwrap on Christmas Day.

Please get in touch with us below to let us know that you will be collecting presents on our behalf and one of our team will reach out to see how we can support you.

Who is Love Rockingham?

Love Rockingham was initiated in 2024 by Greg Lake from Paradox Church & The CREW Rockingham and Chelsea & Darrell Wilson from The Salvation Army, as we collectively have the desire to support churches in the city to meet the needs of the city. Love Rockingham is not a legal entity in itself, it is a collaboration that is managed through the insurance and management of The CREW Rockingham and the financial management of The Salvation Army Rockingham. We desire to serve churches in the city and support their mobilisation into the city.

The CREW Rockingham will lead the serving, logistical and distribution coordination for the Christmas Hampers.

The Salvation Army Rockingham will handle all financial donations and issue tax receipts, ensuring full transparency and accountability.

The City of Rockingham have provided the use of the Gary Holland Centre for us, for the week leading up to hampers and will have collection points across the city where the community can donate presents. We really appreciate their continued support of those in need in our city!
